At LMU, we recognize that sometimes our students may need some extra help academically. We have a two-pronged approach where we always encourage the students to discuss issues with instructors first, but also believe that a peer tutor can also be a great method to help students succeed. These Peer Tutors are current LMU students hired to tutor specific courses in which they have demonstrated an above average ability or aptitude.
When students struggle in a particular course, it often helps to consult a fellow student who has already taken the course. We recommend not waiting until the last week of the semester before scheduling a tutoring session or seeking course assistance. We have many flexible hours and appointment times to help assist students academically. Sometimes all it takes is another person's perspective to help unlock the solution to the problem!
Scheduling a Tutoring Session at the Main Campus:
Walk-in Tutoring--this is on a limited basis and subject to availability.
By-appointment Tutoring--We offer many flexible times in many academic areas for one-on-one tutoring.
For a complete up-to-date schedule of Peer Tutors, please stop by the Tagge Center (located on the first floor of the Carnegie-Vincent Library). If you have any questions please contact Jill Neeley, LMU Academic Support Counselor.
Scheduling a Tutoring Session at one of our Extended Sites:
If you are a student at one of our extended campuses and need some extra assistance, please contact Jill Neeley for an up to date list of our extended site tutors. This tutoring may be done through faculty contact, peer tutoring on site, or remote if needed.
Scheduling a Tutoring Session if you are an online student:
If you are taking an online course or courses and need tutoring, we are more than happy to assist with that process. Please contact Jill Neeley to set this up. This can be done in person if you are near one of our sites or remotely as needed.
